-- Crazy Splines -- Back to tutorial index
Overview: This tutorial will show you how to make some crazy abstract spline formations with DiTools from Remotion.

Step 1: First off you need to make a spline path...keep it relatively small. After you make your path, drop it into a EXTRUDE NURBS object: OBJECTS > NURBS > EXTRUDE NURBS
Here is my spline shape:
Step 2: Next make another spline path, remember this is an abstract tutorial so if you want it to look different than mine, make a different looking path. When your done, drop that into a EXTRUDE NURBS object. Your hierarchy should look like this.
Currently my splines look like this:
Step 3: Ok, here comes the fun. Drop the two spline paths into a DiCloner Object. PLUGINS > DITOOLS > DICLONER
NOTE: If you have used dicloner before or completed my other tut, you will know that the bottom object is cloned on the points of the top object, so swithcing the two can yield different results.

NOTE 2: At this point if you are not happy with how the spline paths look, change the settings on the EXTRUDE NURBS object to your liking.

On the next image I changed the settings on the bottom extrude nurbs. I changed the right movement setting to 1m. Here is what it currently looks like. This makes the splines small and fiberous.

However changing the settings of the Extrude Nurbs object can also yield fat, thin, noodle like splines.
Applying a nice transparent material with a light perhaps?
